This children's book subtly and sweetly raises awareness about the decline of hedgehogs, and reasons why this is happening by focusing on the issue of a lack of suitable habitat. Also, what makes a good habitat, highlighting simple ways in which we could possibly help them. My aim was to encourage children aged 3-5 and their parents to engage in helping wildlife together; doing something small to make a big difference. A teacher could also help to encourage this within a school/nursery environment with activities based on the book.
